Motor and Cognitive Control Laboratory
About us
Welcome to the Motor and Cognitive Control Laboratory, a dynamic research facility that was founded in March 2020 at the esteemed University of South Dakota. Under the expert guidance of Dr. Arun Singh, the lab is dedicated to unraveling the intricate workings of motor and cognitive control. We appreciate your visit and look forward to sharing our groundbreaking discoveries and advancements with you.
In March 2023, we proudly inaugurated our latest addition to the Sioux Falls campus—an innovative laboratory that represents a significant stride in our research capabilities. The state-of-the-art SF lab is equipped with cutting-edge technologies, including wireless EEG, fNIRS, tES, and Opal sensors, which enable us to explore the frontiers of scientific discovery like never before.
We are affiliated with the Division of Basic Biomedical Sciences as well as the Department of Neuroscience, Sanford School of Medicine, USD. The Singh lab studies the motor and cognitive control networks in Parkinson's disease and other neurodegenerative and neuropsychiatric disorders. We also use brain stimulation methods that can excite or inhibit brain activity to normalize abnormalities.
